JTC, founded in 1958 by Dr M. Fujii, a former President of Japanese National Railways, celebrated its 50th anniversary last year. JTC has provided reliable services for clients commencing with Japan Railway Construction, Transport and Technology (JRTT), JR Group companies, private railways, and public railway users by participating in surveys, designs and supervision mainly for development of Shinkansen network across Japan, elevated railways, railway double-tracking, construction of new railways, subways and MAGLEV train system. We have made many contributions to the rehabilitation and modernization of railway infrastructure in overseas countries utilizing all of our accumulated technology and experience cultivated in Japan and abroad. As a result currently we are involved in as many as 20 projects abroad including Indonesia, Vietnam and Uzbekistan.
　The recent economic and investment climate has been worsened markedly. All members of our staff, however, commit ourselves to make every effort to mark a new step forward following the 50th anniversary, to make our technical capabilities more advanced so that we will be able to serve our clients with high-quality products and services that fit their needs. To achieve this goal, we are determined to strategically carry out measures and policies incorporated into a newly set up Operational Plan to provide not only for three-years ahead but also for the future beyond.
　Under the harsh conditions, though, railway transportation has come under the spotlight worldwide as it is the most advantageous means of transportation in terms of energy efficiency and carbon-dioxide reduction as well as high-speed, punctuality and convenience. We will take advantages of our advanced technology and ample experience to enhance and expand our quality of consulting services for development of transportation infrastructures both domestically and internationally.
